Landscaping Trailers
Last summer I decided that I needed to expand my landscaping
business. I had started my business using our old family pickup
truck but it became evident that I had to expand my
services. Of course expanding in the landscaping business
means you will have to have more tools and equipment on the job
site. So the best choice seemed to be for me to locate a
good new or used landscaping trailer.
This seemed like it would not be too difficult a task but I
was soon proved to be wrong. I visited my local Lowes to
check out their variety of flatbed landscaping trailers.
Although the basic trailer didn't seem too expensive, when you
added various accessories like racks storage boxes, the price
went up very quickly. Since my purpose was purely to find
a trailer that would specifically be useful in landscaping, I
decided to try to locate a used landscaping trailer.
After calling a few used car lots and checking the local
newspapers, I learned this wasn't going to be an easy
task. The newspapers had a few available but they were
either overpriced or undersized when compared to exactly what I
was looking for. It was then that my neighbor suggested I
check out the internet for used landscaping trailer
sales.
Searching online for a used utility landscaping trailer led
me to a great auction style site. The best thing is it
allowed me to compare prices and benefits of all types of
utility trailers. When I started out with my search, I
was only considering the basic flatbed trailers you see around
any neighborhood in the summer. But when I started
comparing prices of used trailers, I was suddenly inspired to
consider all the uses a decent trailer could offer. After
checking my budget, I decided to go with a cargo style trailer
with locking doors in the rear and side. Although the
used cargo trailer did cost me a couple hundred dollars more
then a basic landscaping trailer, it officered considerable
benefits.
The enclosed cargo trailer made a great landscaping trailer
for several reasons. The typical landscaping trailers
have racks and boxes for your tools. But for the most
part, all your equipment is left out in the open and exposed to
the weather as well as prying eyes. All you have to do is
to neglect locking the equipment up after use and there is
little doubt someone will help themselves to your tools.
Instead of worrying about locking up several cables, you only
need to close and lock the doors when away from the work
site. Plus you can safely carry anything you desire out
of sight and safe from any adverse weather. The
additional benefit is you can add a classy advertising message,
phone numbers, names or whatever you like to the walls of the
cargo trailer. This proved to be a great means of
advertising on the work site as well as when on the road.
I've already gotten new customers from decals on my
trailer.
So if you are looking for a good landscaping trailer, I
strongly suggest looking on the web. But do as I suggest
and compare prices online and be sure to buy a landscaping
trailer that will serve all your needs.
